IMPERIESE: Trekking on the Liguria trail between Andora and Cervo.
The view from the Deer Hill is priceless: two gulfs stretch out before us, that of Diano Marina and that of Andora, and over there by the sea we can see the colorful houses and bell tower of Cervo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
The route begins by crossing the ancient medieval bridge, which in ancient times connected Clavesana Castle to Colla Micheri. You cross the bridge and begin the ascent. Soon you are immersed in the typical Ligurian Mediterranean scrub where the olive tree is the real king of the area. The first part of the hike will always be uphill, but after a while you will reach the ridge and enjoy views of incredible beauty, between the green vegetation and the sea. Once you reach the Deer Hill, the view is truly priceless: two gulfs stretch out before us, that of Diano Marina and that of Andora. The view ranges from Cape Mele to Cape Berta.
At a certain point the maquis gives way to holm oaks and pine: we have entered the Ciapà di Cervo Municipal Park. Now the descent begins. Our destination is the ancient village of Cervo, which awaits us with its timeless beauty. Narrow cobbled streets, flowers and dreamy nooks and crannies. Worth a visit is the scenic Piazza dei Corallini where the Church of St. John the Baptist stands majestically, built thanks to donations from local sailors who once traded coral.
After the tour of the village, we reach the Aurelia road and take the bus back.
