🧐 Although it might look like a strange plant at first glance, it is a real animal
🌍 Typical of rocky substrates, the sea anemone attaches to the seafloor, and more specifically in its crevices, via a stalk at its base
👀 This is one of the largest anemone species in the Mediterranean, and that is also why it is not difficult to see it in dives!
🤿 In fact, during snorkeling trips this summer, the anemone in the photo was one of the most frequently encountered specimens, mainly due to the shallow depth at which it could be found
🤔 Fun fact: Do you know where the name “anemone” comes from? From the Greek ànemos ("wind" in Greek), this name refers to the movement of this animal in the current, reminiscent of that of flowers in the wind!
