THEATRICAL TREKKING IN GARLENDA
Nature, landscape, trekking, friendship history and culture. Thanks to the efforts of BAIA DEL SOLE VIAGGI and the MUNICIPALITY OF GARLENDA, we are proposing a theatricalized trek to allow enthusiasts and tourists to discover an area unique in scenic and historical beauty. A nature trail through easy paths suitable for everyone, to introduce you to the many aspects of the area and beyond. With the “theatricalized” visit: a true historical “full immersion,” you will make direct acquaintance with a historical figure related precisely to the territory visited.
The first visit on the calendar, to honor the Feast of St. Catherine, will be held on May 3 and will feature Violante Contessa di Leingueglia, known as the Lady of Garlenda. Playing the role of the noblewoman, illustrating the historical period she lived through, will be historian and writer Maria Rosa Marsilio, who often collaborates with us by bringing other female characters from the Ligurian territory (and beyond) to the stage. Careful historical and philological research, through a lively and brilliant narration, will lead us to interact with the figure in period costume, creating a pleasant historical and narrative interlude.
During the excursion, among the beautiful historic hamlets of Garlenda, participants will visit the hamlet of Castelli and experience the feast of St. Catherine alongside the local citizens, hearing from the living voice of Countess Violante her perspective on the historical event that so closely affected her.
