Cap d'Antibes and the Tire - Poil trail
The Cap d'Antibes, one of the most iconic and fascinating places in the French Riviera, is world-famous for its perfect combination of elegance, nature and privacy. This beautiful natural promontory stretches between the renowned resorts of Antibes e Juan-les-Pins, and offers a unique experience, ideal for both first-time visitors and those who wish to rediscover hidden corners of authentic Mediterranean beauty.
Our itinerary begins with a visit to the Villa Eilenroc, one of the most charming historic residences on the Cap d'Antibes. Surrounded by a botanical park of over 11 hectares, this 19th-century villa is a perfect example of the elegance of the French Riviera. The mansion was built in 1867 at the behest of the Dutch magnate Hugh Hope Loudon, designed by the famous architect Charles Garnier, known for building the Paris Opera and the Monte Carlo Casino. The name "Eilenroc" is an anagram of Cornélie, wife of the first owner, and has since become synonymous with charm and sophistication.
Today, Villa Eilenroc is open to the public and is a must-see for lovers of art, architecture and local history. The view of the Mediterranean Sea, which can be enjoyed from its gardens, is simply breathtaking.
After visiting the villa, we will walk along the Tire-Poil Trail, an attractive hiking route that skirts the most unspoiled part of the promontory. The name, curious and picturesque, comes from a dialect expression referring to the sea wind that often blows here, "pulling hair."
Along this scenic trail, easily walkable, we will be immersed in an authentic and vibrant nature: maritime pines, agaves, junipers, wild olive trees and fragrant Mediterranean essences accompany every step, while the gaze wanders between the sheer cliffs and the turquoise waters of the coast.
Despite its proximity to famous tourist destinations, the Tire-Poil retains an intimate and wild soul, away from the chaos, where time seems to slow down. A unique sensory experience, between silence, wind and sea, which gives genuine emotions to every visitor.
Dedicated to all those who like to immerse themselves in another dimension, made up of remote places and times.
Time will be marked only by our footsteps.
