Discover a unique experience among nature, culture and breathtaking scenery with this hike to Bordighera, pearl of the western Ligurian Riviera. A route suitable for both lovers of trekking and those who wish to immerse themselves in the authentic charm of the area. The route begins in Bordighera, an elegant Ligurian town famous for the cultivation of flowers and Mediterranean atmosphere. The first stop is Upper Bordighera, the historic heart of the city, enclosed by mighty late medieval walls, among picturesque alleys and timeless vistas.

This is where the real adventure begins: the Beodo trail, one of the painter's most beloved places Claude Monet, who found inspiration for many of his works there. The architect Charles Garnier, who lived in Bordighera for a long time, called this path "one of the most exciting walks, which every artist cannot forget."

The Beodo follows the ancient route of theaqueduct built in the 1400s to supply the city with drinking water. You walk along a unique historic palm grove, among mimosas, brooms, olive trees, succulents and tall palms, in an atmosphere of quiet and wonder.

In the first section, the trail gives spectacular coastal views Ligurian, then gently drifts inland until it reaches the hamlet of Sasso, a small perched hamlet where a stop for free lunch.

After refreshments, we return to Bordighera on foot, along the same path, experiencing nature in every step.

To complete the experience, you can visit the Pallanca Exotic Garden, one of the most fascinating botanical collections in Europe. Covering an area of 10,000 square meters overlooking the sea, this garden houses More than 3,000 varieties of cacti and succulent plants, some of which are extremely rare or of exceptional size.

The collection is the result of the passion and work of Four generations of the Pallanca family, who have dedicated their lives to collecting, classifying and caring for unique species from around the world.

Every corner of the garden offers unforgettable panoramic views of the bay of Bordighera and deep contact with Mediterranean biodiversity.
