Cannes - Urban trekking

Cannes - urban trekking

Discover Cannes on foot allows you to appreciate every nuance of the city: from the medieval atmosphere of the neighborhood Le Suquet to the glamour of the Croisette, passing through local markets, picturesque harbors and little-known gardens. An urban trek designed to combine Culture, nature, cinema and scenic beauty in a single day.

The journey begins in the district Le Suquet, the city's historic and authentic core, situated on a hill overlooking the harbor. A maze of cobblestone alleys, pastel-colored houses and glimpses of the bay testify to Cannes' medieval origins.

The descent leads to the striking Vieux Port, where modern yachts and fishing boats coexist in a lively, seafaring atmosphere. A short walk away is the Marché Forville, covered market that represents the gastronomic heart of Cannes.

Recommended typical products:

  • Olives of Provence

  • Tapenade e socca

  • Artisan cheeses and fresh fruit in season

The route continues to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, emblem of the Cannes Film Festival. A shot on the famous red staircase is not to be missed.

This is followed by a relaxing walk along the prestigious Boulevard de la Croisette, between the sea and palm trees, high-fashion boutiques and historic hotels.

Points of interest along the Croisette:

  • Carlton Hotel, Belle Époque masterpiece

  • Croisette Gardens, ideal for short stops in the shade

  • Art galleries and luxury storefronts

Reaching the eastern end of the Croisette is the Jardin de la Roseraie, a green oasis overlooking the sea, ideal for a relaxing break. A few minutes away is access to Port Canto, a quieter and less crowded marina than the Vieux Port, but just as scenic.

Not to be missed:

  • Panoramic view of the Lérins Islands

  • Hidden gardens and pine forests, perfect for quiet walking

For the return trip, we recommend a route along the pedestrian promenade, with the possibility of walking on the sand or stopping at one of the many beach club.
