Trekking: The Gulf of the Island. Ring of Bergeggi on Mount Mao
one of the most scenic trails in The Gulf of the Island, also walked several times by Golden Trail athletes. We start from Spotorno to follow the ancient Roman road that with a nice climb leads us to the tip of Mount Mao. Just before reaching the top we can enjoy the view sitting on the Giant Bench overlooking the Gulf. From Mount Mao we descend to the gorge of St. Helena and then climb up to the Mount of the same name and the Fort, now a paragliding runway. From here we cross the village of Bergeggi and descend to the Aurelia road and return to the starting point.

Length: about 7 km
Height difference: about 440 m.
Equipment: hiking shoes, poles, clothing suitable for weather conditions, small first aid kit, water to drink at least one liter, packed lunch.
