Noli and its hinterland: loop trekking to discover the excellence of the area

June 14 @ 8:00 am - 15:00

Free

The trek starts from the charming village of Noli, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and an ancient Maritime Republic, where narrow medieval streets, towers and the scent of the sea accompany the first steps of the walk. Leaving the historic center, the route begins to climb toward the majestic medieval castle of Monte Ursino, which dominates the coastal landscape from above.
Here there is a short visit to the castle, during which you will learn about the history of the fortification, its defensive function and the strategic role it has played over the centuries, while your gaze opens to an extraordinary panorama that embraces Noli, the Gulf of Isola and the Ligurian coast. From the castle we take the ancient Road to Voze, a route steeped in history and immersed in the Mediterranean maquis. Here the path becomes more intimate and silent, among scents of aromatic herbs, dry stone walls and glimpses of the sea that accompany each step to the hamlet of Voze.
On the way to Voze we reach the Ca’ di Negru farm, where an interesting visit to the apiary is planned. Gabriele, the beekeeper welcomes participants by passionately recounting the world of bees: from their social organization to honey production and the fundamental importance these insects have for the ecosystem. The experience is direct and immersive, enhanced by hands-on demonstrations and trivia that make the visit as educational as it is fascinating.
After the visit, the trek continues to Voze and its peasant soul of dry stone walls and ancient stories of borders. It continues to the Bric dei Monti, a vantage point that offers sweeping views of the hinterland and the coast, and where we arrive at the charming lavender field of the nolese territory, where the owners welcome the group by telling the story of cultivation, the characteristics of the plant and its many uses. The intense scent of lavender accompanies the story, creating a relaxing and sensory atmosphere. Here the experience ends with a tasting: honey produced by Ca’ di Negru, and lavender flowers. The return to Noli takes place along scenic paths that bring participants back to the starting point.
A scenic trek through an area of great natural and historical value that takes participants to discover local excellence and those who, with care and passion, produce and preserve it.
