In the land of Great Wines. From La Morra to Barolo.
Evocative walk among the vineyards and villages of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Known as the “balcony of the Langhe,” La Morra offers a beautiful view of the vineyards that have made this place famous throughout the world. It is harvest time for the nebbiolo grapes that, expertly aged, over a few years will allow us to taste an excellent Barolo. Our walk, an up and down of 6 or so kilometers, suitable for everyone who likes to walk, takes place mostly in sections on a dirt road and in sections on a path through the vineyards. Along the way we will discover the great vineyards and wineries along the way. A stop at the colorful” chapel of the Barolo“, the only one of its kind in Italy. This small chapel was built in 1914 as a shelter for workers in bad weather and was dedicated to SS. Madonna delle Grazie. In 1970 it was purchased by the Ceretto family, who entrusted the renovation to artists Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett, who knew how to transform a ruined building into a splendid testimony of contemporary art. Our walk will end in the beautiful village of Barolo, where we will have free time for our picnic lunch or to buy something in the cafes/ wineries.
We recommend visiting the very interesting WIMU (WIne MUsem) museum set up inside the Castle with set design by Francois Confino, already known in Piedmont for creating the Cinema Museum at the Mole Antonelliana in Turin.
A walk in the Langhe cannot but end with a visit to a winery and a nice tasting. We are happy to recommend the winery best suited to your needs.
