A guided hike among the paths of the Ligurian hinterland, discovering the landscape and history of Garlenda, a characteristic village in the Lerrone Valley. The event offers a walk among hilly views, ancient hamlets and collective memory.
A path commemorating a historic event
Every year, on August 24, Garlenda residents participate in a commemorative walk to remember the February 23, 1887 earthquake, one of the most violent ever recorded in Liguria. The earthquake hit the Riviera di Ponente hard, causing severe damage and casualties, but Garlenda was miraculously spared.
Program of the day
9:15 a.m. - Meet at Borgata Ponte (Garlenda) in front of City Hall.
9:30 a.m.- Departure
Along the way: scenic stops, stories and historical insights;
Packed lunch (paid for by participants)
Early afternoon: return to Garlenda along the same route
