Trekking: The Finalese: Val di Nava, cliffs and caves

An ideal loop route to discover the various features of the Finale area and one of its most authentic areas.
We will start from a hamlet of Vezzi Portio and, among forests and breathtaking landscapes, we will come to discover the Val di Nava, which alternates between wild nature, ancient human evidence and surprising geological forms.
The walk will lead us to the small fortified village of Boragni built as a refuge against enemy incursions-a collection of houses clamped together, vaulted passageways and inner courtyards that tell centuries of rural history. Continuing between clear cliffs and Mediterranean scrub we will reach the side of Grotta Strapatente, a spectacular cavity formed in the Miocene.

After crossing this fascinating valley we will return to Portio where a visit to the traditional nativity scene, renovated this year with an important novelty such as to make it even more impressive.

Height difference: about 400 m.

Equipment: hiking shoes, poles, clothing suitable for weather conditions, small first aid kit, water to drink at least one liter, packed lunch.
