A theatrical experience between love, history and literature

Join the theatrical guided tour in Spotorno, in the beautiful Riviera di Ponente, for a journey of emotion, culture and literature. The event, organized by Gulf Guides - Liguria with the cooperation of La Baia del Sole Travel Agency and Hotel Miramare, celebrates the centenary of the visit in Liguria by the famous English writer David Herbert Lawrence.

D.H. Lawrence and Frieda: love and scandal on the Ligurian Riviera

In 1925, Lawrence stayed with his wife. Frieda Von Richthofen at the prestigious Miramare Hotel in Spotorno. Here Frieda experienced an overwhelming passion with a local man, the inspiration for the famous novel "Lady Chatterley's Lover.". Liguria, already then a favorite destination for English tourists and writers such as Byron, Dickens and Shelley, thus became a real and symbolic setting for their affairs.

Theatrical guided tour among the creuze of Spotorno

During the theatrical guided tour, participants will be accompanied by the  Gulf Guides along an evocative route through the historic center and the "creuze" of the village. At various points along the route, the actress Maria Rosa Marsilio, in period costume, will play the "beautiful Frieda" and narrate firsthand passions, infidelities and reflections from the couple's letters.

An immersive experience that combines touring theater, cultural trekking e historical narrative, designed for those who love English literature and the authentic beauty of Liguria.

Grand finale: signature aperitif at Hotel Miramare

The visit concludes in the enchanting garden of theMiramare Hotel, where guests can enjoy an aperitif with:
