Let's find out Zuccarello, a small medieval village dominated by the castle of the Marquises del Carretto, founded in 1248. The settlement is characterized by old houses and a single large columned arcaded street dating from different eras . It retains the appearance of a fortified village in the remains of the walls, towers and gateways. One of the architectural jewels of the village is the beautiful medieval humpback bridge, which crosses the Neva River, among the most beautiful in western Liguria. In front of Porta Soprana welcomes visitors the statue of Ilaria del Carretto who was born here before going to marry Paolo Guinigi, lord of Lucca.
