✨ And here’s another species of jellyfish: Pelagia noctiluca
🌍 A species native to the Mediterranean, this jellyfish is the most stinging in the Mare Nostrum! Contact with its tentacles (which can be as long as several tens of centimeters!) can cause severe burning and, in the worst cases, even an allergic reaction
❕So be careful! If you see one of these jellyfish in the ocean, try to get away from it and do not touch it
🤿 During one of our snorkeling trips, this elegant specimen was photographed swimming as it was carried along by the current
🤔 Fun fact: Did you know that the Pelagia is bioluminescent in the dark? If you come across one at night, you’ll see how this animal takes on a brilliant glow; and if you see it from a boat out at sea, it’s even more magical!
