St. Eugene's Dawn. Cultural walk in the morning light
July 13 @ 7:00 a.m. - 10:00
Free
In the morning, when the sun rises behind the Island of Bergeggi, the Way of St. Eugene begins, a route that combines history, faith and a splendid panorama. Arriving in Noli, passing through the Piazza gate, where the saint is depicted, we reach the church of St. Peter. Here, amid silence and recollection, the “Holy Bodies,” the precious relics of St. Eugene, a tangible sign of the community's deep devotion over the centuries, are venerated.
We then continue to the ancient cathedral of St. Paragorio, where the relics were moved from the small church on the Island of Bergeggi when the local diocese was established in the 13th century.
