Via Julia Augusta and the Roman bridges of Val Ponci: emotions between history and nature
A journey through time: from the Arma delle Manie where artifacts found have traced the passage of man between the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods, we begin the descent to Val Ponci among the essences of the Mediterranean scrub.
You reach the first incredible Roman architectural work, the Dumb Bridge, then the Deaf Bridge and finally the Fairy Bridge . From here one can begin the ascent by encountering on the trail the Arma delle Fate where artifacts from the ancient Paleolithic period have been found. Also found were numerous remains of cave bears (Ursus spelaeus) that used the cave for their long hibernations.
We ascend immersed in the ilex forest to reach the starting point and close the loop on the Manie plateau.
