Historical-naturalistic walk in front of Gallinaria Island, with its curious turtle shape.

Built in 13 B.C. by Emperor Octavian Augustus, until the early 19th century it was the only road through western Liguria. Later Napoleon and the Savoy built the coastal road that today has the name Via Aurelia. Along the first part of the route the remains of thermal baths, the Roman amphitheater and impressive funerary monuments (1st-2nd centuries AD) are visible. This educational outing is also interesting for its naturalistic aspects: with beautiful glimpses of the sea, it runs alongside Mediterranean scrub and terraces with olive trees.
