The Forts of Genoa
Rare are the cities that can boast wonderful open and natural spaces within walking distance of downtown and Genoa is one of them.
Our excursion will begin by taking the fascinating funicular railway that will take us from the historic center of Genoa to Righi, and from the station terrace, one of the most famous Belvederes, we will be able to admire the whole city from above. A few steps from the arrival of the funicular we will enter the Wall Park with wonderful views of Genoa. We will continue along the’ring of forts . From Fort Spur we will enjoy a beautiful view of the Gulf of Genoa and the city, continue to the Fort Puin and the Younger Brother. We will stop to admire Fort Diamond in the distance and return back through the picturesque Butterfly Trail, so named for the many butterflies of different species that can be seen.
Suitable for anyone who is used to walking trails with a fair amount of elevation gain and is in normal mental and physical condition.
