Rapallo
Situated in a magnificent location in the Gulf of Tigullio, Rapallo boasts such monuments as the ancient parish church of St. Stephen and the Civic Tower. The Castle, built in 1551, is connected to the mainland by a thin tongue of land. Villa Tigullio, from the beautiful garden, now houses the Lace Museum, with lace made by bobbin lace and garments that testify to a textile production now centuries old. In the immediate hinterland is the Shrine of Our Lady of Montallegro, built 612 meters above sea level; it can be reached from Rapallo by cable car. From the shrine there is a spectacular view of the entire Gulf.
Boats depart from the Rapallo waterfront to Santa Margherita Ligure (15′ of navigation) and Portofino (30′ sailing).
Campoligure
In the hinterland of Genoa, among the chestnut forests stands out the historic center of Campoligure, dominated by the fifteenth-century Spinola Castle. The Medieval bridge on the Stura, built in the 9th century consists of four bays. In the main square of Campo Ligure faces the parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary (marvelous painting by Bernardo Strozzi), and the magnificent Spinola Palace. Prestigious Campese artisans excelled in the production of filigree. A museum is dedicated to filigree with objects both locally produced and from all over the world.
Arenzano
In the path between Genoa e Savona a stop can be made in Arenzano. The guided tour of Arenzano generally involves the famous Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague (1904) . The devotion originated in 1628 when the Prague princess Polissena Lobkowitz offered the local Discalced Carmelites a wax statue depicting the Child Jesus. Among the main monuments Villa Negrotto Cambiaso, erected during the 16th century by Marquis Pallavicino. The centuries-old park provides moments of serenity and harmony.
