You are a cruise passenger? Does your cruise ship dock in the port of Genoa? Contact us to arrange a walking tour to explore the historic center. The tour begins at the Maritime Station, once the departure point for large liner ships to America (the Michelangelo, the Raffaello...) and today a terminal cruises where mostly MSC motor ships dock. Opposite the terminal, the more modern neighborhoods, perched on the side of hills dominated by mighty fortresses, immediately render the image of the verticality of Genoa. Leaving the garden and the palace of Andrea Doria, one of the beautiful suburban villas of the city, we will stop in front of the Commandery of Prè, a very old complex of the Knights of Malta. After passing the Galata Museum, we will reach the Old Port with the Dock, where the galleys of the Republic of Genoa were built and stored.
Since 1992, the Old Port has received a new look thanks to the designs of Genoese architect Renzo Piano; housed here are the famous Aquarium, the Bigo with the panoramic elevator, and the Biosphere with its tropical microclimate.
From here we will enter the downtown, discovering the Cathedral, the Gesù Church, De Ferrari Square with the Columbus House, the Ducal Palace, the Garibaldi Street, of the many museums and the famous palaces of the Rolli. The route will also take us among ancient workshops, in the typical caruggi (alleys) of the Middle Ages, discovering the flavors Of Ligurian gastronomy.
